About Opal

🐾 IDGRR is proud to introduce sweet, nearly four year-old spayed Opal. This pretty honey colored girl is amazing with most anyone as well as most other dogs and cats, although she can take a few minutes to warm up and will likely bark upon first greetings. Once she trusts you, she will be your best pal and sit on your lap all day long, if you let her.

🐾Opal will need to lose some weight in her new home. She is a big strong girl-77 pounds. She walks OK using a harness and will need some training as she is not used to being walked regularly. She is incredibly sweet and ready to hop up in your lap-that being said, she does get up on furniture and she likes to lounge on your couch and ottoman.

🐾 Opal has been raised with a three month old baby and a 2 1/2 year-old toddler. Her surrendering family has had her since she was eight weeks old and is painstakingly surrendering her due to changes in their work schedule. Opal has grown up with a border collie mix as well as a cat.

🐾 Opal will let you know when a stranger approaches. She barks and will need some lessons on introductions. She will eventually stop when corrected.

🐾 Opal rides fairly well in a car. She seems to have great recall in the yard and will need to get used to her new owner‘s voice before trusting her off leash. Opal has had some personal training and knows sit, stay, shake, lay down, come. She is trustworthy in the house for long periods of time. Opal is very food motivated and will do most anything for a treat. She’ll need a reminder on her manners around taking human food out of your hand. She also can jump up if she gets anxious or excited.

🐾Preference given to existing Boise area applicants.
