We're in beta. This site is brand new, built by IDGRR volunteers over the past few months. What that means

Welcome to our new website

We rebuilt it from scratch, and we're still smoothing out the rough edges. Here's what that means for you — starting with your account.

Had an account on our old website? You still have it.

If you had an account on our previous website, it came across to this one. Your name, your contact details, and the records connected to you came with it — you do not need to sign up again.

What could not come across is your password, so your account doesn't have one yet. Go to the log in page and enter your email address. We'll recognize the account and offer you two ways in: we can email you a link to set a password, or a one-time sign-in link that logs you straight in. Either one works, and you can set a password later if you start with the link.

If you no longer use the email address the rescue had for you, the log in page won't find your account — send us a message and we'll move your account to your new address.

Why the website changed

Earlier this year we launched our first real website. It was built on Lovable using their AI, and it did a lot for us — it got the rescue online quickly and taught us what we actually needed a website to do.

As we asked more of it, it got harder to keep running reliably. So over the past few months our volunteers rebuilt the whole thing from scratch, on a foundation meant to hold up for the long run. This site is that rebuild.

What "beta" means here

Beta means it is finished enough to use for real, but new enough that we are still finding rough edges. Everything on it is real — these are our actual dogs, applications reach our actual volunteers, and donations reach the rescue. Nothing here is a demo or a test.

It also means we are still moving things over and filling things in, so you may run into something that isn't finished yet.

  • Pages and forms look and work differently from the old site
  • A few things from the old site aren't rebuilt yet, and some things here are new
  • You may find a wrong date, an odd layout, or a link that goes somewhere unhelpful

Found something broken? Please tell us

We would much rather hear about a problem than have you quietly give up on a form. Our contact form comes straight to the volunteers who built this. It has a short "What's this about?" dropdown — pick the website or form option and your message lands with the right person faster.

What helps us most: which page you were on, what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and whether you were on a phone or a computer. A screenshot is a gift. If something blocked you partway through an application or a surrender request, say so — we can look up what was saved and help you finish.

Please be patient with us

Idaho Golden Retriever Rescue is run by volunteers. The same people who built this site also foster dogs, drive transports, sit in vet waiting rooms, and answer email after their own workdays are done.

So if a reply takes a few days, or a corner of the site still looks unfinished, it isn't neglect — it's a small group of people doing this around their jobs and their own dogs. Thank you for bearing with us while we get it right.

What hasn't changed

The dogs, the fosters, the mission, and the people. We are still Idaho's only golden retriever-specific rescue, still foster-based, and still doing the same work. The website is the part that got rebuilt.

Tell us what's broken

A wrong date, an odd layout, a form that wouldn't submit — nothing is too small to send us.
