Dogs Looking for Forever Homes

These goldens are with us now and ready to meet you.

Hudson

$700 4 years, 8 months
Location: Sequim, WA
4 years, 8 months Male 70 lbs Fixed

🐾 Introducing gorgeous Hudson. He is a nearly five year old, neutered and vaccinated rockstar! He is a SUPER HAPPY golden retriever who wants to play all the time. Ball obsessed. He is a quick learner and very dog friendly. He is crate trained, house broken and rarely barks. He LOVES the car. 🐾 Hudson’s tail is ALWAYS wagging. He’s good with kids. And, again, he will do anything for a ball. He’s very affectionate. Hudson chases cats, so we will not place him in a house with cats. He’d love a big yard and an active owner. He is a big time counter surfer and regular food gulper, so will need instruction on those particular manners. He is good on a leash. He’s a big and strong boy. 🐾Hudson is located in Sequim, Wa. We will try to place him as close to where he is currently located as possible with one of our fully vetted and approved applicants.

Kodi

$600 3 years
Location: Rigby, ID
3 years Female 65 lbs Fixed

🐾Introducing beautiful 3 year old Kodi. Kodi is kiddo friendly. She’s spayed and vaccinated. Kodi got the short end of the stick in life. She was banished to a crate at a young age and as a result, doesn’t know how to play well with other animals. She can for a while, but hasn’t had the training to adhere to animal boundaries. She lives in a crate 20 hours a day. This is heartbreaking. 🐾If given the opportunity, Kodi is very playful, has high energy and is down to play fetch for hours or go for a run or long walk. And she is also very cuddly and wants to lounge next to her person. She needs a second opportunity at life. She’ll need to be the queen of her castle and start off as the only pet in her new house. Kodi tries to kill small farm animals like birds, chickens and rabbits. She will need one on one training to overcome her very high prey drive. 🐾Kodi loves going for runs/walks but can be a puller as she gets so excited. Understandable given her mostly crated life. Kodi would love an adopter who will work with her to acclimate her to the life she deserves- full of walks, pets, cuddles, love and freedom. Located in Rigby, Idaho.

Maple

$600 4 years
Location: Provo, UT
4 years Female 90 lbs

🐾Introducing 4 year old Maple. She is the sweetest girl and a puppy at heart. Maple was used by a breeder and has had at least three litters of puppies. She had her last litter in April and is slightly overweight. She will need lots of exercise and to be spayed. She’s good with other dogs and has been great with the surrendering families young kids. 🐾Maple loves to play fetch and is very strong. She enjoys tug toys. She will play for hours! Maple is great in the car and does well on her leash. She loves to get in between your legs for some extra pets and attention. This pretty girl is so gentle. Unknown around cats although she has been non-responsive to stray cats near where she is currently living. She came from a “breeder” that had many acres and was used to living outside. 🐾Maple is now house trained, as well as crate trained. However, given that she lived outside for her first several years, she will likely need a strict routine and gentle reminders often until she acclimates into her new environment. 🐾Maple is in a foster situation in Utah.

Goldens Who Found Their Homes

Alumni of the rescue, settled in with the families who adopted them.

Pinto, a rescue dog through IDGRR
Adopted

Pinto (Piper)

8 years, 2 months
Location: North Idaho
8 years, 2 months Female

Pinto is a super sweet girl who just wants to be with her people. She is very laid back, curious and smart. She lived on a farm and is extremely good off leash.

Finn

7 years, 5 months
Location: Boise, ID
7 years, 5 months Male 80 lbs Fixed

🐾 IDGRR is working with our partner, Stella's Shelter Fund to get this guy set up for success! Finn is in a two week board and train program. We are confident Finn will be an interactive and well-behaved dog post training. This training program will include his new Adopter in the process. He will be released Tuesday, October 27th. 🐾Finn likes to swim, does well in the car and loves his yard time. He loves his human connections. 🐾Finn has been around kids-2 to 8 and does well. We envision Finn doing well with an experienced handler, willing to spend time to create the deep bond that he had with his previous family. Finn was recently an only dog and could potentially connect with another dog and do well, but may need some time to make this work. He did well with two small dogs from the surrendering families’ in laws.

Iris

1 year
Location: Spokane, WA
1 year Female 52 lbs

🐾Introducing 11 month old Iris. Iris will need a very special adapter. She has a heart murmur. Grade 3-4. IDGRR has an echocardiogram scheduled next week to determine next steps. This means that she will likely need her activity level monitored, she will sleep more than most dogs her age and will need to be on Pimobendan/Vetmedin. Iris could very well live a very long life, or she could pass unexpectedly and quickly. 🐾Iris is a typical 11 month old puppy. She is very loving and crate trained. She was surrendered along with her sister, Lily. Iris is active and doing well in foster. Unknown behavior around cats. They have been under socialized as they were surrendered by a “breeder”. 🐾Both girls are located in Northern ldaho/eastern Washington.

Hunter

1 year
Location: Boise, ID
1 year Male 70 lbs

🐾Introducing Hunter-a beautiful 1 year old Golden Retriever. Hunter is coming back to us through no fault of his own. His adopters experienced a death in the family and subsequent life changes. Hunter loves their 13 year old daughter and gets along great with their two older Golden’s. He loves his toys so much he tries to carry them ALL at once. He is very sweet and gentle, and typical to being a younger pup, he is very high energy. He does jump up on furniture/people, so will need training. 🐾If you are looking for the perfect youngster —Hunter is your guy! House trained, crate trained and good with dogs, kids (recommend 6+ due to his youth/strength) and cats, Hunter is the whole package. He’ll need to be neutered. 🐾Hunter is ultra trainable and obedient. He is very well behaved, especially once he gets his zoomies out. He loves to go on hikes and explore the outdoors and new areas. He loves people so much and he is such a happy go lucky guy. 🐾Hunter is the best dog anyone could ask for. His gentle sweet personality and his happiness makes him the loving dog he is. He’s down to do anything from chomping on a bone in the living room to hiking mountains and camping out. The best behaved and the most trainable dog you will ever meet. He will always greet you with a smile and his happy wiggles and gives you a nice leg rub as well( he thinks he’s a cat). He’s a big snuggler and loves to play fetch. He knows basic commands such as sit, down, stay, wait, load up, crate up, back, and gentle. He’s a one in a million dog who loves deeply and is extremely smart. He could have easily been a service dog had we put him in the training for it. Due to lack of time and a new born baby thrown into the mix along with unexpected financial strain, we have had to make this very difficult decision to find a new home for him that can give him the time, attention, and the proper care he more than deserves. He’s the bestest boy and we hope that the next person can love him as much as we love him.” 🐾 As always, preference given to existing applicants in the Boise area. IDGRR is not accepting new applications on Hunter.

Maui

6 years, 9 months
Location: Boise, ID
6 years, 9 months Male 85 lbs

🐾Introducing nearly 7 year old Maui. He is very social, potty trained and pretty awesome. He’s the sweetest boy. He is very cuddly, loves being pet and has tons of energy. Maui has been raised with young kids and loves them! He is looking for the perfect adopter willing to love on him. He’s strong! He pulls hard on his leash, but loves walks. 🐾Maui gets along great with other dogs and has not been raised with cats. He would love a nice house and big fenced yard to live in for the rest of his life. He is a big boy, weighing around 85 pounds. Again, he is strong. He pulls hard on a leash and will need some serious leash work. He is a very happy boy! He’s a huge love bug and only wants to play with other dogs. Don’t let his age fool you, he may be an older dog, yet he is young at heart and in body. 🐾Seeking an adopter for Maui in Boise. Let’s get this big boy into his forever home and let him begin to settle. He is very adaptable and is pretty much happy anywhere. He rides extremely well in the car. Priority is given to existing applicants. Maui will need to be neutered. Maui has been living in a garage for the last three years. He’s been given 3-4 20 minute potty breaks/outside time a day. Despite that, he’s so awesome! 🐾For more info/To apply-https://www.idahogoldenretrieverrescue.org/

Iris

9 months
Location: Boise, ID
9 months Female 50 lbs Fixed

🐾Introducing nearly 10 month old super lovely Iris. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped. Raised with many kids (3-10), she is an extremely kid friendly pup. She can gently mouth your hand to get attention-we recommend 5+ kiddos. She is very playful, like any golden and is trained enough to go on a walk and stay right next to you the whole time, even without a leash. 🐾Iris is very smart. She sits well and shakes. She has a special way of letting you know she’s ready to go outside and play by sitting next to the door and shaking her right paw up at you. 🐾She gets excited and does jump up to get your attention, so she will need some work on her manners. She also jumps up on chairs, beds, couches, counters and tables, etc. She is crate trained and rides well in a car. 🐾Iris is very dog friendly. She loves playing with other dogs. She has not been raised around cats. While the family who is lovingly surrendering her (due to housing issues) was told when they adopted her at a young age that she is a pure bred golden retriever, we suspect she may have a little bit of a lab mixed in with her. She’s tall and lanky. Her feathers are just coming in. 🐾Iris is located in Boise. We would like her to go to a home with a fenced yard. She does like to dig from boredom but doesn’t try to escape. We will not be accepting any new applications on Iris. Preference is given to our existing fully vetted and approved applicants in the Boise area only.

Annie

2 years
Location: Boise, ID
2 years Female 45 lbs

🐾Introducing 2 year old beautiful Annie. Annie is a huge lovebug. Kid friendly, dog friendly and cat friendly (she wants to play with them which depending on which cat, can be a rodeo). She is full of energy and loves to play. She loves getting pets. 🐾Annie has been an outside dog so she will need a patient adopter willing to work on potty training and house training. We think she would do well in the house with another dog. We recommend older kids as she still jumps up and doesn’t quite know her size and strength. A securely fenced backyard is preferred. Annie will need some work on her recall. Annie will also need to be spayed. 🐾Annie is located in Boise. We are NOT accepting any new applications on Annie. We will try to place her in the Boise area with our existing approved applicants (recently approved applicants, please feel free to reach out as well).

Millie

7 years, 8 months
Location: Boise, ID
7 years, 8 months Female 50 lbs Fixed

🐾Introducing adoptable Millie. She’s 7 years, 7 months young. She’s super affectionate and obedient. Millie is your classic lovable golden girl. She loves people and being with her people. Millie is up for anything-swimming, hiking, snuggling, and playing. 🐾Millie has been through some changes in the last few years with the addition of kids. She’s fantastic with them! However, the family giving her up has crated her 18 hours a day due to work changes. Millie deserves better! She needs room to roam and be next to her humans, all the time. 🐾Millie is looking for her new active family that will love and dote on her. Even though she’s older, that hasn’t slowed her down at all. She’s ready for fun! Currently in Boise, Idaho.

Lily

1 year
Location: Spokane, WA
1 year Female 55 lbs Fixed

🐾Introducing active and uber friendly Lily. Sweet Lily is 11 months old. We are working to get her updated on her vaccines and spayed. She is your typical 11 month old puppy, very active, loving, and will need some work on her training. 🐾 Lily is crate trained and a bit under socialized as she and her sister, Iris, were surrendered by a “breeder“. Unknown behavior around cats. 🐾 These precious girls are located in eastern Washington/Northern Idaho.

Ivory

3 years, 10 months
Location: Wilder, ID
3 years, 10 months Female 55 lbs

🐾Introducing almost 4 year old Ivory. This blond 55 pound Golden girl has a true golden heart. She is so unbelievably sweet and just wants to be around her people. She’s the best player of fetch, movie/news watching companion and all around snuggle bug. She is excellent in the car, loves water, loves her toys and is wonderful with young children. She is excellent on a leash. 🐾 Ivory is in Wilder. She was purchased from a breeder in Pennsylvania to potentially be bred in Idaho about a month ago. While she is quite good with most of the dogs in her new home, she can be dog selective. There are several other dogs in the surrendering families home and she occasionally spars with a few of them. This is likely due to the fact that she is not spayed. This will need to be done as soon as possible by her new adopter. 🐾Ivory is wonderful with the cats in her current situation-she even eats right next to a few of them. However, if they do run, she will chase them to play, but not harm them 🐾IDGRR is NOT accepting new applications on Ivory.

Milo

11 months
Location: Carmen, ID
11 months Male 60 lbs

🐾 Introducing nearly 1 year old Milo. He’s a big, strong, active, loving and handsome youngster. Milo is great in a car, loves the water, and will be a perfect hiking buddy. 🐾Milo is great with kids and other dogs. He has been around cats and is very curious, but so far is not chasing them. He would love another dog to play with. He will need a fair amount of training and lots of exercise. He is very lovable and learns quickly. He will need to be neutered. He’s very smart and wants to please. He’s house trained. 🐾Please reach out to us to meet him. Located in Carmen/Salmon, Idaho. Willing to transport for the right fit.

Maisie

6 years, 11 months
Location: Will be in Boise on Tuesday , ID
6 years, 11 months Female 70 lbs

🐾Introducing Maisie. She is a nearly seven year old 70 pound English Cream Retriever. She was used to breed. Now she needs a soft place to retire and be spoiled. She’s friendly, playful and also pretty darn mellow. She loves to be next to her person. She likes to play ball, chew on bones and is good around most dogs. She’s good around horses, rabbits, cats (will chase if running in a field but will also chill and lay next to them) and goats. 🐾Maisie knows sit, down, paw, load up, crate or kennel. She is great with ALL kids. She loves belly rubs, cuddles and loves water. She’s great in a car and good on leash. She is potty and house trained-new info from her owner surrender. 🐾She’s a retired mama. She will need to be spayed. She’s vocal and responds well to correction. She’s food motivated. 🐾Located in Preston. Being transported to Boise on Tuesday. As always, we try our best to place our rescues as close to where they are being surrendered as possible.
